Rimac, the renowned company known for producing the incredibly fast Nevera EV, has recently introduced an even more powerful version known as the Nevera R. This upgraded electric supercar boasts impressive performance enhancements that set it apart from its predecessor.
The Nevera R is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60mph in a mere 1.74 seconds, making it one of the fastest production cars in the world. With a staggering 2,107 horsepower under the hood, the Nevera R outshines its previous iteration by an additional 200 horsepower. These enhancements contribute to the car’s remarkable speed and power on the road.
In addition to its impressive powertrain, the Nevera R features improved aerodynamics, increased downforce, and enhanced grip. These enhancements not only improve the car’s overall performance but also contribute to its superior handling and stability at high speeds. The Nevera R has also proven its capabilities on the track by shaving off 3.8 seconds from the original Nevera’s lap time at the challenging Nardo Ring circuit in Italy.
Similar to its predecessor, the Nevera R requires “manufacturer oversight” to unlock its top speed of 256mph. Without this restriction, the vehicle is limited to a still impressive top speed of 217mph. Furthermore, Rimac estimates that the car’s 108kWh battery will provide approximately 250 miles of range under the European WLTP cycle, although official certification is still pending.
While the Rimac Nevera R is undoubtedly a remarkable achievement in electric vehicle technology, it may be a rare sight on public roads. With its extraordinary speed and performance capabilities, the Nevera R is more likely to find its way into the company’s upcoming fleet of Croatian robotaxis rather than in the hands of individual customers.
The Rimac Nevera R sets a new benchmark for electric supercars with its unparalleled speed, power, and performance enhancements. As the automotive industry continues to embrace electric propulsion, the Nevera R stands out as a testament to the innovation and advancement in electric vehicle technology.
